demo is up and running

Monday, March 29th, 2010

We had this scheduled for a long time and I’m glad we can finally announce the immediate availability of the official conjoon demo.

The demo is available at http://demo.conjoon.org – you need to register and create a demo account first, you can do so by visiting http://www.conjoon.org/demo.

Please note, that this demo’s purpose is to give users a first glance at the features conjoon provides. Therefore, there are a few restrictions regarding functionality:

  • you can only use one preconfigured email account
  • only the latest 10 emails from this preconfigured account will be fetched every time you check for new messages
  • you can’t edit, add or remove email accounts
  • an additional signature will be attached to each message you send from the demo

For further informations, visit the registration page at http://www.conjoon.org/demo.

conjoon and lighthttpd

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

lighthttpd is a very successful open source web server – a number of large companies already use it for speeding up their Web 2.0 applications. Apparently, it was just a question of time until some users wanted to run conjoon under lighthttpd instead of Apache 2, for which the software was configured. A blog entry on misterfu.de shows you how you can  set up the rewrite rules so that the Zend Framework routing  still works:

url.rewrite-final = (
“.*\.(mp3|swf|js|ico|gif|jpg|png|css)” => “$0″,
“blank\.html” => “$0″,
“^/install/(.*)$” => “$0″,
“^index\/redirect.+$” => “index.php”,
“.$” => “/index.php”
)

Needless to say that various bug fixes made it into this release. Around 300 commits to the vcs have been made since the last release.

conjoon.org/.com domain transfer

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Last night the transfer of conjoon.org/.com was started. We are updating the servers due to the popularity the project gained, and we’ll be back with more performant hardware. We are also planning on providing a live demo, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, please use the address www.conjoon.de, which serves as our fallback domain.

Hello world, this is conjoon speaking…

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I’m proud to announce the open source project “conjoon”, a web based personal information manager with the ambitions to become a groupware.
I’m currently in the process of building a first downloadable release. Until this is done, you might want to add yourself to the reminder, which will notify you as soon as there is a downloadable version available.

Happy coding

Thorsten
